SweetLife is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your personal and health data.

Data We Collect

SweetLife collects blood glucose readings, insulin doses, meal logs, exercise logs, and profile information (name, diabetes type, insulin settings) that you enter into the app. We also collect basic device information for app functionality.

How Your Data is Stored

Your health data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. We do not upload your blood glucose readings, insulin logs, or other health data to external servers unless you explicitly choose to generate a report or use AI chat features.

AI Chat (Chug)

When you use the Chug chat feature, your messages and relevant health context (recent BG readings, diabetes type) are sent to our secure server, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude AI. These conversations are not stored on our servers after processing. Anthropic's data handling practices apply to AI interactions.

Health Data Protection

We treat all health-related data with the highest level of care. Your medical information is never sold to third parties, never used for advertising, and never shared without your explicit consent. You can delete all your data at any time from the app settings.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services: Anthropic Claude AI (for Chug chat), Expo (for app updates and notifications), and RevenueCat (for subscription management). Each service has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Analytics

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as which features are used most) to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify individual users. You can opt out of analytics in the app settings.

Children's Privacy

SweetLife can be used by people of all ages managing diabetes. For users under 13, a parent or guardian should set up and oversee the app. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app, and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
